Farewell to Suzuki

Tessa Grigg reflects on 14 cherished years with the Suzuki music community as her son, Harry, nears high school graduation, marking the end of their journey. From early violin squeaks to rich Mozart tones, their Suzuki experience grew through concerts, camps, and workshops. Tessa recalls the support of teachers and the joy of becoming involved, running a summer camp and serving on the committee. Grateful for the friendships and growth Suzuki has provided, she encourages others to volunteer, embracing the values Dr. Suzuki instilled in music education.

Grace and Olivia Francis

Grace and Olivia Francis began learning through the Suzuki method at four years of age. Grace works as a collaborative pianist, teacher, and choir conductor in Auckland. Olivia is a first violinist in the Badisches Staatstheater in Germany and studies in Zürich, Switzerland. In this article we hear from both Olivia and her mother about their journeys as Suzuki student and parent, and beyond.
