Editorial v1 n1
“The term and lessons are well underway again, and 1990 has certainly come in with a rush, but I, for one, have come back more prepared after being very fortunate to attend the Rotorua Summer Camp. My daughter benefited immensely from the tutors and the contact with children from other areas. I returned more aware and more ‘in tune’ with the Suzuki Method and philosophy.
This edition begins the change in status of the NZSI magazine. It has become a ‘Journal,’ largely through the work of the immediate past editor. I have not worked on it long enough to accept the credit, but I am proud and pleased.
As a Journal, it becomes more permanent and brings us in line with what is being published overseas by other Suzuki organizations.
Here, though, is just the beginning. There are certain contributions which must become more consistent, such as Letters to the Editor, Branch News, and the Parents Column.
To keep the Journal informative and alive, there needs to be a backlog of articles and features – a store from which I can draw. Everyone, I am sure, has something to contribute at some stage – no matter how small or informal. Please note the copy deadlines and the new address for the Journal.”
