For Parents

Put on the CD or tape daily and leave it running so your child can listen many times over to current songs and pieces coming up in books ahead.

Organize practice every day, ideally seven days a week. Dr Suzuki spoke of only practicing on the days we eat!

Make review (playing pieces already learned) a big part of the daily practice session. According to Dr. Suzuki, it is review that develops ability.

Attend all your child’s lessons and make notes on what the teacher wants you to work on with your child at home.

Participate in group lessons and, where possible, workshops and camps. Group activities are a cornerstone of the Suzuki method. They are fun for your child and greatly accelerate progress.
