Book Review: A Suzuki parent’s diary v11 n2
A Suzuki parent’s diary or How I Survived My First 10,000 Twinkles by Carol Morrice (Seney, Athens, Ohio. 1984)
I seem to be always writing about books that are not yet available through our NZ Suzuki Library, but this is yet again another delightful book and well worth looking for. It’s only a quick evening’s read.
The book is written in the form of a diary of the first year of a mother’s life with the Suzuki Method. For those who have already been “through the grades” it will be a great relief to know that others have also been through the same agonies (and joys) that they may be enduring.
It is amazing how comforting it can be, when one is feeling very negative about one’s ability as a Suzuki parent or that the effort is just not worth it, that there are other parents out there having exactly the same experiences.
The book also mentions the great moments of being a Suzuki parent – how it’s hard to fight the tears back at that first concert! This book is a great motivator.
