DESCRIPTION:Convention Centre\, Distinction Hotel\, 390 Fenton St\, Glenholme\, Rotorua  \n\n\n\nThe theme of our 8th New Zealand Suzuki Institute Teachers’ Conference is Nurturing the Nurturer  \n\n\n\nWe invite you to join us for the NZSI’s 8th triennial national teachers’ conference.  Following the difficult and isolating time of Covid\, this is a wonderful chance for  us to come together again as a community\, to get to know our fellow Suzuki  teachers\, to share ideas and to learn from our panel of internationally renowned  guest tutors.  \n\n\n\nDuring the three days your time will be spent: listening to presentations from  our highly experienced guest tutors\, discussing new ideas in your instrument  groups\, sharing a buffet dinner on the first night and there will be plenty of time  for you to socialise with your colleagues.   \n\n\n\nWe are confident that you will leave the conference full of new ideas to inspire  your private and group teaching.   \n\n\n\nThis event is largely made possible by your teacher subscriptions. Your  attendance at Conference will ensure that you will continue to qualify for NZSI  Suzuki teacher registration in the next registry cycle 2022-2024.  \n\n\n\nGuest Tutors:  \n\n\n\nViolin – Haruo Goto (Australia)   \n\n\n\nPiano – Kasia Borowiak (UK)   \n\n\n\nCello – Yoshito Terada (Japan)   \n\n\n\nGuitar – Zeah Riordan (Australia)  \n\n\n\nFlute – Kate Bergen (Australia)  \n\n\n\nSuzuki ECE – Bea Joblin (NZ) + Danette Warren-Schuh (USA)  \n\n\n\nRegistration for Conference Opens: Friday June 16th Registration for Conference Closes: Friday July 28th \n\n\n\nConference Fee:  \n\n\n\n$400 (incl. GST) for registered Suzuki teachers. The fee covers morning and afternoon  teas\, lunch on Friday and Saturday\, and contributes to conference costs. (These fees apply  to 2023 NZSI teacher members and internationally registered Suzuki teachers. A $60  surcharge is payable in the case of non-members.)   \n\n\n\nAccommodation:  \n\n\n\nIt is desirable that participants stay at the Distinction Hotel where rooms have been  reserved for the NZSI.   \n\n\n\nRoom rates:  \n\n\n\nStandard/Superior Rooms – $170.00 incl. GST per room per night Single/Twin Occupancy  Deluxe Rooms – $190.00 incl. GST per room per night Single/Twin Occupancy   \n\n\n\nPlease note:  \n\n\n\n– Bookings need to be made through the Conference Coordinator by completing the  appropriate section of the conference registration form.   \n\n\n\n– Accommodation and other hotel costs are to be paid by participants directly to the  Distinction Hotel at the end of conference.   \n\n\n\n– Sharing a room with others will reduce your accommodation costs. If you wish to share  a room\, please indicate this on your conference registration form along with the name of  the person with whom you intend to share\, if known.  \n\n\n\nConference costs:  \n\n\n\nIf assistance is needed with these costs\, participants are encouraged to approach their  local branch of NZSI.   \n\n\n\nBuffet Dinner and NZSI AGM on Thursday:  \n\n\n\nA buffet dinner for conference participants\, their partners and National Executive  Committee members will be held on the Thursday evening at a cost of $69 per person.   \n\n\n\nRegistration:  \n\n\n\nPlease click here to register – https://forms.gle/v3FRw3tztyXxQGkZ7.
